AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy) and its national organizing network, the Industrial Areas Foundation, are hiring organizers whose primary responsibility is identifying, training and mentoring potential leaders in community-based institutions.
Organizers work with these leaders to take on economic, social and political pressures affecting area families.
AMOS has a growing membership of 40 community-based institutions including religious congregations, schools, neighborhood associations, and nonprofits. Over the past 25 years, AMOS has built a track record of success around a diverse, grassroots agenda including
- Children's mental health
- Juvenile justice and restorative justice practices in our schools
- Workforce and economic development
- Infrastructure
- Affordable housing and supportive housing services
- Training 1000s of community leaders to act on their own behalf
Salary: $50,000 and full benefits
