At a public action on April 19, 2010 AMOS received commitments from community leaders to substantively address disproportionality in the schools and juvenile justice system. The emphasis was on collaborative action by community partners to achieve improved results for youth.

In addition to the Four Mile Skate Park which opened on July 1, 2009, AMOS has been instrumental in convincing the City of Des Moines to build additional skate parks. Plans for a 65,000 square foot regional park on the Des Moines riverfront are in the works.
